Volleyball team suffers loss against EP/J

The VHS varsity volleyball team was outpointed by the Elk Point Huskies, losing a four-game match with scores of 23-25, 21-25, 25- 15, and 19-25, on Tuesday, Oct. 1 in the VHS gym.

In the preliminary matches, the freshman team won 2-1 but stats were not available. The junior varsity lost by 22-25, 15-25. Individuals cited for their play: Rachel Odens � 4 ace serves; Brittany Bye � 3 kills; Raychel Lorenz � 4 set assists; and Kristina Blythe � 21 digs.

Head Coach Lenni Billberg was disappointed with the varsity's performance.

"This was not our best night," she said. "After weeks of playing amazing ball, we had a letdown in our level of play. EP/J played very well, but our mental mistakes lost us the match, however Olson and Brown excelled defensively in the rivalry challenge."
