Hannah was born in Vermillion in 1925. She worked at The University of South Dakota for 15 years and was active at Trinity Lutheran Church. Though it was hard to depart from her brother, Paul Nelson, his family and many friends, in 1983 she moved with her husband Amos to Texas.
After 10 years, she retired from Action Management, but before the seat of her rocking chair warmed up she was off to work at the Hobby Lobby in Rockwall. She is finally putting some wear and tear into her rocker but the real hot seat is the one in front of her computer where she does data entry and other miscellaneous work for companies from her home.
Hannah and Amos celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 14, 2005, are members of First United Methodist Church of Quinlan, have two children, Leon and Karla, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
