4-H club creates centerpieces
On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the Jolly Juniors and Juniorettes 4-H club met at the fairgrounds and cleaned up trash on the grounds.

Afterwards the regular club meeting was called to order by Ellen Hanson. Ashley Sorensen led the Pledge of Allegiance and Marley Hanson led the 4-H pledge. Roll call topic was "What are you going dressed up as for Halloween?" No secretary's report was read. Cyndi Dendinger game a treasurer's report.

Thank yous were given to the Hanson family for setting up the library display the first two weeks in October, to club members for turning in their record books/journals on time, to Connie Holoch for helping with judging awards and to Sarah Rosacker and Emily Holoch for donating cookies to the Saint Agnes Autumn Classic winner.

New Business: The new club program, enrollment forms and new journals were handed out. Enrollment forms are due into the office by Dec. 1.

Discussion took place on what to do for Make A Difference Day. Pam Hanson will let everyone know once she has made contact with a few people.

The club planned a fun outing to Garritys' on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The club decided to donate a Thanksgiving dinner basket of food to a family in Vermillion. Club members volunteered to bring certain items. Connie Holoch will find the family to donate the basket to.

Sarah Rosacker volunteered to bring two dozen cookies in October to the Saint Agnes Autumn Classic winner. Cyndi Dendinger volunteered for November and Marley Hanson volunteered for December.

Recognition Banquet is set for Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.

Project Day for the club is set for Sunday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m., to meet at the Extension building. Bring wooden angel pieces and bases (already sanded), paint of your choice and paint brushes. Come ready to paint. Bring your journals along, we are going to work on catching up some of the writing. If time permits, the members will make decorations for the W.H. Over Museum club Christmas tree.

Election of officers took place. New officers are the following: president, Ellen Hanson; Vice president/Camera/Community Service, Ashley Sorensen; Secretary/Reporter, Marley Hanson; and treasurer, Emily Holoch. Congratulations!

Marley Hanson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ashley Sorensen seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned.

Sarah Rosacker gave a demonstration "Card Stamping." Sarah also provided refreshments for the evening.

Ellen Hanson presented a Judging School in Foods and Nutrition � Breakfast Juices.

The club made 24 fall centerpieces which will be donated to Vermillion Ministerial Association to help decorate the tables at the Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner held at the Vermillion Community Center (Armory) on Thanksgiving Day.

The next club meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Extension Building kitchen. Ashley Sorensen and Katie Van Balen will be giving demonstrations. Thanksgiving basket items should be brought to the meeting. Also remember to bring ingredients designated to make Sand Art cookie mixes.
