Care packages planned for unit
The family support group of the Charlie "C" Battery, 147th National Guard unit is preparing to send care packages for the 151 soldiers now serving in Iraq. Many friends, co-workers, and supporters have been asking about sending cards and gift items to the soldiers.

Citizens who wish to participate in this project may drop off cash or small items to the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce & Development Company office. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to "Charlie Battery FSG". The items will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m.

The family members of this unit will be meeting on Sunday, Dec. 4 at the Yankton National Guard Armory to pack the care packages and get them ready to mail. The cash items will be used to pay for the postage plus to purchase small items such as phone cards, disposable cameras, holiday treats, toiletries, magazines, and other items easy to mail.

The boxes for the gift items are the size of a large shoe box, so items must be small (for example; gum, candy and snack bars, lifesaver rolls, toothbrushes & other sample size toiletries, magazines, etc.).

The family support group of Charlie Battery thank you for all of your support and prayers to the members and their families.
