? Pamida Extended Shopping Hours � Join Pamida for the biggest shopping day of the year!�Pamida will be extending its shopping hours on Thursday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 25 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

? Free Movie � Saturday, Nov. 26, Vermillion Theater/Hollywood Video will be showing Because of Winndixie free for the kids. ��Shows start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. giving parents time to do some holiday shopping.

? Extended Holiday Shopping Hours � Shop Vermillion Sunday, Nov. 27 with extended store hours from noon to 4 p.m.

? Congratulations � Stan Peterson of Vermillion was the winner of the First Holiday Shopping Card promotion drawing for $100 in Vermillion Bucks on Monday, Nov. 21.�

? Holiday Shopping Card Promotion � The second drawing for the Holiday Shopping Card promotion for $100 in Vermillion Bucks will be on Monday, Nov. 28 at noon! Be sure to get your Holiday Shopping Cards turned in to the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce and Development Company at 906 East Cherry Street before noon on the Nov. 28 to be entered into the second drawing!

? Clay-Union Electric Corporation � Clay-Union Electric would like to invite the public to help them celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Clay-Union Electric with an Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28 at Clay-Union Electric in Vermillion.�

? Volunteer of the Year � The United Way of Vermillion is now accepting applications for the Volunteer of the Year Award. Applications can be picked up at the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce and Development Company. Applications must be submitted before Dec. 15.

? Tree Lighting � Please join us in downtown Vermillion the evening of Friday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves will lead a parade down Main Street to flip the switch to light up Vermillion's Community Christmas Tree.�Come listen to the carols and enjoy hot chocolate courtesy of the Market Street Caf�.�

Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Vermillion Public Library � After the lighting of the tree, kids can enjoy crafts, activities, and stories with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Vermillion Public Library Friday, Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Parents and shoppers � downtown merchants are extending their hours for your holiday shopping convenience!

? Vermillion Area Community Foundation Grant Requests � The Vermillion Area Community Foundation Board is now accepting grant requests. Applications can be picked up at the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce & Development Company at 906 East Cherry Street or online at

? Midwest Youth Basketball Tournaments �Vermillion will be hosting the Midwest Youth Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments at the DakotaDome again this year. This event brings many people to our community and we're looking forward to showcasing all that Vermillion has to offer!

We need volunteers to help support the event and we are hoping that you will consider sharing some of your time to assist us! The boys' tournament will be Dec. 2 and 3, and the girls' tournament will be Dec. 9 and 10. If you can spare some time to volunteer please contact our office at 624-5571.

? Vermillion Chamber & Development Company Events Calendar � Our Web site now has an events calendar. The public can add events to the calendar and view what is going on in the community. Go to, then go to the left hand side of the screen and click on the "Events" button, and then "Community Calendar" button. Once you've saved the event we will review and post it on the calendar.
