United Way of Vermillion seeks volunteer nominations

Do you know a friend, family member or co-worker who goes above and beyond for the Vermillion community by volunteering? The United Way of Vermillion is looking for nominations for Volunteer of the Year 2005 and will recognize this person at the Vermillion Area Chamber of Commerce and Development Company Annual Meeting that is to be held in 2006.

Nominees are sought who exemplify the best traditions of volunteerism in America.

The honoree will have a sustained record of giving of his/her time and other resources for the improvement of the community in a broad range of activities.

A committee of seven members representative of the city, the school district, the churches, the Chamber of Commerce, and other non-profit organizations will be selected by the United Way of Vermillion Board of Directors to evaluate the nominations and to select the winner of the award. No member of this committee will be eligible for nomination for the award.

All United Way member agencies, other non-profit agencies, and the general public are encouraged to submit nominations for the Vermillion Volunteer of the Year Award. Nomination forms may be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce office, United Way office at 24 E. Cherry St. or we will email you a nomination form uwverm@iw.net.

The deadline for this year's nominations is Dec. 15. Completed nomination forms should be mailed to United Way of Vermillion, P.O. Box 216, Vermillion, SD 57069.
