University’s I.D. Weeks Library receives award

The MPLA Carl Gaumer Library Championship Award was presented to the

I.D. Weeks Library, University of South Dakota, Vermillion, in recognition of long years of support of the Mountain Plains Library Association.

The active involvement of a librarian in a professional organization requires substantial support and commitment from the librarian's employer. The I.D. Weeks Library has provided just that support to MPLA's long-time Executive Secretary Joe Edelen.

In addition, the Library has provided a permanent address for MPLA and the university has hosted the MPLA Web site since its creation. This positive support has been vital in the ongoing functioning of MPLA.
