4-H'ers will sing carols Dec. 14
On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Jolly Juniors and Juniorettes 4-H club met at the Extension Building kitchen. Ellen Hanson, president, called the meeting to order. Ashley Sorensen led the Pledge of Allegiance and Reilly led the 4-H pledge. Everyone introduced themselves and the roll call topic was "Who are you looking forward to seeing at Thanksgiving?"

Marley Hanson read the secretary's report. Sarah Rosacker made a motion to accept the minutes. Ashley Sorensen seconded the motion and the motion was carried.

Emily Holoch read a treasurer's report. Pam Hanson presented a bill to be paid. Ashley Sorensen made a motion to have the bill paid. Sarah Rosacker seconded the motion and the motion was carried.

A thank you was read from the individual whose yard our club mowed/mulched/raked the leaves for Make A Difference Day. Ellen Hanson, Ashley Sorensen and Marley Hanson were personally thanked for all the hard work they did on the two yards they cleaned up.

A thank you was given to all those who brought items for the Thanksgiving Basket that will be given to a Head Start family. Pictures were taken of the basket.

A thank you was also given to Sarah Rosacker and her family for the cookies they made for the winner of the Saint Agnes Autumn Classic for the month of November.

Discussion took place on the Recognition Banquet scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 20. Emily Holoch and Sarah Rosacker volunteered to bring cookies for the event. Our club was in charge of the kitchen so Connie and Emily Holoch, Kris and Sarah Rosacker, and Pam, Ellen and Marley Hanson volunteered to help where needed. Emily Holoch and Ellen Hanson volunteered to get up and speak at the event and tell what their most memorable 4-H experience was. Everyone was encouraged to attend the event.

Discussion took place on the date and time our club will ring bells for the Salvation Army. Dates and times were decided. A reminder notice will be sent out to everyone of the date and time chosen.

The club discussed if they wanted to donate something to the Saint Agnes School Classic for their silent auction. Ashley Sorensen made a motion to donate a baked good once a month for a year. Sarah Rosacker seconded the motion and the motion was carried.

Ellen Hanson, president, informed the club of the upcoming community service project with the Senior Citizens Center. Everyone was sent home with a pile of blank cards which they are to decorate and bring back to the December meeting.

On Friday, Dec. 2, the club met at the W.H. Over Museum and decorated our club Christmas tree for the festival the museum was having on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Club members picked a tag off the SESDAC Angel of Hope Christmas tree which listed ideas for gift items for several SESDAC individuals. They are to bring the item/items, wrapped to the December meeting.

Emily Holoch made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Marley Hanson seconded it and the meeting was adjourned.

Ashley Sorensen gave a demonstration on "How to put together Sand Art Cookies."

The club then put together 12 jars of the Sand Art Cookies which will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. A picture was taken then.

The next club meeting will be on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Club members will meet at Prairie Homes Assisted Living to sing Christmas carols. Afterwards they will go back to the Extension building to assemble the angel wood pieces with Marion Kryger. Remember to bring a hammer, $10 to cover the cost and have your angel pieces all painted.

A short meeting will follow. There will be pizza and pop. Remember to bring your $3 gift exchange for a fellow 4-H member. Also remember to bring your SESDAC Angel of Hope present and the cards made for the Senior Citizens Center.
