Boxers will compete in Vermillion Dec. 17
National amateur boxing champions from the United States and Canada will arrive in Vermillion Dec. 17 to compete.

The event will be held at the Vermillion Middle School gym. Weigh-ins will be held between 1 and 1:30 p.m., followed by physicals between 4 and 5 p.m. Matches start at 5:30 p.m.

Competing teams include Alliance Boxing, Kearney Boxing, SiouxLand Boxing, Cheyenne Eagle Butte and Wilch Boxing Club.

An added attraction for all of the senior matches is referee Claude Plante of Winnepeg, Canada.

Plante's recent experience includes serving as a referee at the Pan-Am Games, and at many national competitions.

Get your amateur fighters ready and enter this competition for a challenging experience. The matches are USA amateur boxing accredited and USA boxing rules and regulations will apply.
