Touchstone Energy, Clay Union Electric and KFSY are pleased to announce that Brian Bye, son of Todd and Lynne Bye, has been chosen as the scholar of the week.

Brian attends Gayville� Volin High School. This is set for the week of Dec. 25 thru Dec. 31, and should air on Dec. 29 during KSFY's 6 p.m. news.�Brian was nominated by Natalie Selchert, guidance Counselor for Gayville Volin High School.

What does it take to be a Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week? It's not just about grades or athletic ability. It takes a well-rounded individual that excels in the classroom and the community.

Touchstone Energy Cooperatives such as Clay Union Electric along with KSFY Television have joined together to recognize the achievements of high school seniors throughout the region.

Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week has been celebrating the achievements of high school seniors since 2002. Recipients are highly motivated high school seniors who excel in the classroom and community. This program was founded on the four pillars of Touchstone Energy: Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and a Commitment to Community. Bye's GPA is 4.08. He is active in football, basketball, cross-country, golf, band, chorus (All-State, three years), student council, Character Council, 4-H, church youth group, HOBY, and Boys State.

Brian is an exceptional young man whose leadership ability is evident in all that he does. He is a role model for other young people who witness his strength of character, his dedication and hard work, and his outgoing and friendly personality. He does his best in each endeavor. His contagious affirmative attitude seems to positively impact those around him.
