Charity poker tourney will benefit cancer society
The "Poker and the Meaning of Life" First Year Experience class will be hosting a charity Texas Hold ?Em poker tournament to raise money for the American Cancer Society at noon, Dec. 3, at the Washington Arts Center in Vermillion.

The Coyote Poker Classic has been planned by students enrolled in a First Year Experience class at USD. Members of the class decided to contribute their profit to the American Cancer Society after researching different non-profit organizations.

The entry fee is $5 and those interested can register by visiting the registration table in the Coyote Student Center from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2. Prizes include gift cards to Best Buy and 500 piece poker sets. E-mail fye@us with questions about the project.

This event is sponsored by Sioux Valley Health Systems, The Cherry Street Grille, Herren-Schempp Building Supply and The USD Student Action Office through a grant from Learn and Serve America, a division of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
