Funds accepted for Briest family

Donations are now being accepted at First Dakota National Bank in Vermillion (111 Court Street) and both First Dakota National Bank locations in Yankton (225 Cedar Street and 2105 Broadway Avenue) for Sgt. Corey Briest and his family. Corey (a Vermillion High School graduate) and his wife Jenny (Johnson), now of Yankton, are parents to Kylie, 3, and Connor, 1.

Corey was seriously injured on Dec. 4 near Baghdad, Iraq in the line of duty, while serving with Yankton's Battery C, 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery Unit. He is now at First Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, where he will remain during his recovery.

Questions on how to make a donation can be directed to the bank in Vermillion (605-624-5555) or Yankton (605-665-7431). Frequent Flyer miles are also being collected for the family for the many trips to and from Washington, DC this will require.
