To the editor:
On behalf of the Friends of the W.H. Over Museum, I would like to cordially invite everyone to come and enjoy the 38th annual Holiday Festival to be held on Dec. 4 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the W.H. Over Museum.
This is an annual event which is the culmination each year of a wonderfully rich selection of events offered by the museum.
This year's festival will feature a Parade of Trees which have been trimmed by many groups and individuals from Vermillion; performances by several talented area musicians including a storyteller; many tables of crafts and art work, including the work of Robert Aldern; and a groaning hospitality table featuring holiday specialties from the Friends; and, a bake sale table which will include crafts all created by members of the Friends.
We will also have a membership table which will enable current members to renew their membership or for interested individuals to become members of the Friends of the W.H. Over Museum.
The W.H. Over Museum is the oldest museum in South Dakota and is named for William Henry Over, its first director. We enjoy a rich history in Vermillion and are eager for our local citizens to visit and enjoy the museum and share in this local treasure.
Come on over to the Over!
Sincerely,
Maxine Johnson
