Game, Fish and Parks welcomes new conservation officers (COs) in Sioux Falls and Vermillion.

Conservation Officers Joe Keeton and Shawn Wichmann are the new faces on the Game, Fish and Parks law enforcement team. Wichmann is from Balaton, MN, and a graduate of Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in machine tool and die, but dreams of being a wildlife officer led him to the wildlife sciences program at SDSU.

Keeton is from Sturgis and a 2004 graduate of the SDSU wildlife and fisheries program. Before attending college, Keeton was in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Both Wichmann and Keeton held conservation officer intern positions with GFP during the summer of 2004, the first year for the new intern program.
