Tanager varsity downed by Lennox
The Vermillion boys' varsity was downed by Lennox 64-59 in basketball Dec. 13 at Lennox as the winners held the lead after each quarter.

The loss gave Vermillion a record of 1-1 while Lennox moved to 1-0.

"We played hard," said coach Jason Huska. "We fell behind early and played catch up the rest of the night. We missed some shots that we normally don't. We just allowed too many transition baskets."

The Tanagers fell behind 22-15 after the first quarter, trailed 33-26 at halftime, and then trailed 49-41 after the third quarter.

Vermillion sank 7 of 20 three-point tries and made 12 of 17 from the line. The Tanagers sank 20 of 50 field goals, while Lennox was 26 of 44 from the field. Lennox made 4 of 12 three-point tries and sank 8 of 13 from the line.

Even with the loss, the Tanagers had several good individual efforts.

"Jordan Boots hit a lot of threes," coach Huska said.
