Tours of Wakonda, Irene schools planned

All patrons of both the Wakonda and Irene School Districts are invited to walk through each school facility during the home basketball games on Dec. 8-9. On Dec. 8, the Irene/Wakonda Lady Eagles host the Lady Tornadoes of Centerville in Wakonda, and on Dec. 9, the Centerville boys' basketball team will be playing the Eagles in Irene.

Each school will have their facilities open for the public to walk through and view. It is important for patrons of the districts to do this as the two school boards are beginning talks about consolidation for the future betterment of the education for the children of each community. Availability of facilities to house K-6 and a 7-12 attendance center is a big issue and the boards want their patrons to have knowledge of what is available in the two school districts. Please take the time to tour each facility during these times.
