Trofholz shares NCC player of the week honor

South Dakota All-American Turner Trofholz, a member of the USD men's basketball team (5-0), has been named Co-North Central Conference Player of the Week, according to an announcement released from the league office.

Trofholz, who led the Coyotes to wins over Simpson (84-69, Nov. 22), Oklahoma Panhandle State (79-77 OT, Nov. 25) and Colorado State-Pueblo (72-60, Nov. 26) last week, averaged 24.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in the three contests.

For the week, Trofholz, who shared the honor with Nebraska-Omaha's Calvin Kapels, shot 65.9 percent (29-of-44) from the field and 76.5 percent (13-of-17) from the free throw line. He also had four assists, four steals and three blocks.

USD returns to action on Monday, Dec. 5, when they host Morningside at 7:30 p.m. in the DakotaDome.
