VHS student awards announced
Tricia Merrigan and Kyle Brunick have been named the November Vermillion High School Students of the Month. Their classroom efforts and their contributions to the VHS student body are recognized with a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust-Vermillion.

Merrigan "offers relevant input and is always insightful and mature with her comments. I very much appreciate her contribution," according to her faculty endorsement. Her college plans are to eventually attend graduate school for journalism.

Her activities include the National Honor Society, HOBY, dance team, volleyball, Teen Angels, Natural Helpers and Student Council. Her parents are Nick and Mary Merrigan.

Brunick's endorsement indicated that he "is consistently among the top students in class. Kyle has a great personality and is a tremendous role model for our younger students in the district." His parents are Paul and Ann Brunick.

Included among Brunick's activities are basketball, Student Council, football, National Honor Society and baseball. Presently his college plans are to attend either Northern Arizona University, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, or The University of South Dakota to major in finance with the eventual goal of receiving his MBA.
