Wayne State College winter commencement held Dec. 16
Wayne State College winter commencement ceremonies were held Friday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. in Rice Auditorium. A total of 193 undergraduate and graduate degrees were awarded by Dr. Richard J. Collings, president.

Katharine Lynn Dowling, who graduated summa cum laude, Scholar in the Major, Secondary English Education, and Kelly McCormack Peterson O'Connor, who graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science, gave the honor addresses.

Dowling, the daughter of Gregory and Darlene Dowling of Randolph, is a graduate of Randolph High School. O'Connor, the daughter of Don and Cindy Peterson of Vermillion, is a Vermillion High School graduate. She is married to Shane O'Connor, a Wayne State College alumnus who recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. They are parents of a son, Ty Matthew.
