December honors awarded to Tiahrt and Solberg

Raleigh Tiahrt and Breean Solberg were awarded the December Vermillion High School Student of the Month honors.

The two seniors will receive a $100 scholarship to the college of their choice from First Bank & Trust-Vermillion.

Tiahrt "was always ?tuned in' in class � alert, attentive and interested," as reported by his faculty endorsement. His list of activities and awards include drama, cross country, wrestling, National Honor Society, oral interpretation, Sophomore Leadership Award, and Boys' State delegate. His plan after high school is to earn a liberal arts degree from a four-year university. His parents are Tom and Cheryl Tiahrt.

Solberg's endorsement indicated that she has an "unfailing sunny disposition" and that "she was always prepared and ready to contribute in class." She plans to major in communications with an eventual career in television. Her activities and honors were National Honor Society, Natural Helpers, oral interpretation, dance team, high school play, homecoming royalty, and Girls' State delegate. Her parents are Alan Solberg and Teresa Jahn.
