The eighth annual Quad State High School Honor Band Festival will be held on The University of South Dakota campus on Jan. 30.
One-hundred-fifty outstanding musicians from 30 high schools in the quad state region will rehearse during the day and present a concert Monday evening at 7 p.m.
The Honor Symphonic Band will be directed by Dr. Lawrence Mitchell, director of bands at The University of South Dakota. Dr. Gary Reeves, director of the USD Concert Band, will serve as conductor of the Honor Concert Band. The University of South Dakota Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Mitchell will also perform on the evening concert.
The 7 p.m. concert will be held in the Knutson Theatre in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts and is free and open to the public.
