Vermillion JV team plagued by turnovers

The Vermillion JV Tanagers lost to the Lennox Orioles 57-32 in girls' basketball Jan. 9 at Vermillion after being buried by a disasterous first half.

The loss was aided by the Tanagers committing 25 turnovers.

The Tanagers trailed 9-4 after the opening period, trailed 35-15 at halftime, and then trailed 45-16 after the third period.

VHS saw its record fall to 1-3, while Lennox upped its mark to 3-1.

VHS sank 0 of 4 three-point attempts and sank 6 of 11 from the line. The Tanagers hit 13 of 30 field goal attempts, while Lennox was 22 of 37 from the field. Lennox connected on 2 of 5 three-point attempts and connected on 11 of 15 from the line.
