VHS JV watches lead vanish in second half
The Vermillion JV Tanagers watched a second-half lead vanish and were defeated by the Madison Bulldogs 49-32 in girls' basketball Jan. 10 at Madison after sinking under a 23-9 final-period deficit.

VHS had led by one at halftime. The Tanagers led 11-9 after the opening period, led 17-16 at halftime, and then trailed 26-23 going into the fourth quarter.

The loss dropped VHS to a record of 1-4, while Madison improved to 3-2.


VHS made 1 of 5 three-point attempts and connected on 3 of 9 free throw tries. The Tanagers hit 14 of 39 field goal attempts, while Madison was 17 of 53 from the field. Madison connected on 2 of 5 three-point tries and hit 13 of 24 from the line.
