What if someone tried to modernize Shakespeare's Hamlet? Danes of Our Lives, this year's Wakonda High School one act play, does just that.
Director Dani Peterson has goals set high for her crew of the play, including bringing back a possible Outstanding Actor/Actress award. Cast members are Adrianne Logue, Lola and Ophelia; Brittany Rederick, Star Keeper and Announcer; Courtney Nelson, Miss Cirso, Rosa; Megan Book, Gertrude; Polonius, Brad and the Undertaker played by Andy Jensen. Student director Patrick Morrison is Shakespeare and Claudius. Amy Luxem and Emily Ganschow are the on-site beauty consultants.
This play was chosen for the great combination of humor and its well-written spin on Shakespeare's play. It is known to be an experience that the cast members and their director will never forget.
So come and support your school's art program at their regional competition which will take place on Jan. 26 at Brandon Valley.
