Vermillion held onto the win from the free throw line, making 11 of 19 charity tosses to 3 of 5 for Beresford.
"We struggled a bit both offensively and defensively tonight," said Vermillion coach Jason Huska. "We were just too hesitant on offense and defensively we got caught out of position. However, I thought our kids did a good job hanging in there and getting the win."
Vermillion improved its record to 6-5, while Beresford dropped to 7-5.
Vermillion made 6 of 18 three-point attempts. The Tanagers connected on 17 of 51 field goals, while Beresford was 18 of 46 from the field. Beresford connected on 7 of 21 three-point tries.
