Larson graduated from Wakonda High School in 1991 and then from Southeast Technical Institute in December 2001. He married Staci Ganschow, another graduate of Wakonda. Staci teaches in Gayville-Volin. They have two children, four-year-old Abby, and two-year-old Molly. The couple is expecting their third child in June.
Larson worked for Wells Fargo Financial for five and a half years in collections and as a mortgage underwriter. Prior to working in the banking industry, he was a farmer.
Larson has lending experience through Wells Fargo, but he now will be learning the everyday operations that the bank does on a daily basis.
"I believe being from the community and having an agricultural background helped me obtain this job," he said. "The biggest challenge will be filling Jim's vacancy. He did an excellent job as manager. I will also be learning a new computer system and the daily ins and outs of the banking industry."
Larson's first day at First Premier was on Monday, Jan. 23. He will be in training in Sioux Falls and Watertown most of the first week.
