Decker participates in ROTC challenge
Penny R. Decker participated in the South Dakota State University Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Tri-State Ranger Challenge competition at Camp Riley, MN.

Ten teams of ROTC cadets from South Dakota, Minnesota, and North Dakota participated in the competition.

The six-week competition included intense training events such as one-rope bridge crossing, 10K road march, hand grenade throw, assault course, weapons assembly/disassembly, patrol based test, physical fitness test and orientation. The competition is designed to test the physical and academic skills of future Army officers.

She is the daughter of Ray and Pamela Decker of Vermillion.

Decker is a 2002 graduate of Vermillion High School.
