The Eagles drew the Bloomfield, NE Bees for their first round of action. The Eagles didn't score very many in the first half, going into the locker room with a 28-15 deficit. The Bees led 43-30 with 2:48 remaining before the Eagles poured it on to tie the game 45-45 with 46 seconds left. All that catching up would be in vain as the Bees made the last two points, ending the game 47-45.
Leading scorers for I-W were Eric Anderson with 15 points and Josh Nielson with 14. Nielson had five assists.
The Eagles' next foe was the Alcester-Hudson Cubs on Friday, Jan. 27. The Eagles won, 69-54, with Eric Anderson leading the way with 21 points. Tyler Knudson had 12 points while Rob Gregoire picked up 11. Nielson had six assists and four steals.
The consolation championship found the Eagles playing Freeman Academy on Saturday night. Eric Anderson once again led the Eagles to a victory, burning the nets with 27 points to lead all scorers. The Eagles won handily with a score of 83-53.
Three other players scored double figures: Nielson put in 19, Gregoire scored 12, and Knudson had 10. Knudson led the team in rebounds with 11.
The Eagles improved to 9-4 on the season.
