Vermillion voters will have two tasks as they enter the voting booths later this year, with the combining of the primary and city elections on June 6.

For city council candidates, nominating petitions can be circulated starting March 1 and must be filed in the city finance office by 5 p.m. on April 4. The term for these offices will be for four years until July 2010.

The following offices will be vacant due to the expiration of the present term of office:

  • Alderman Central Ward (incumbent Mary Edelen)
  • Alderman Northeast Ward (incumbent Kent Osborne)

  • Alderman Southeast Ward (incumbent Ray Hofman)

Nominating petitions can be picked up at the city finance office during office hours.
