Evening with the VHS Music Stars showcases the school's SDHSAA Region I solo and ensemble contest participants as they perform their contest entries.
The music department faculty believes that too often parents and friends aren't able to attend contests and see performances. "Evening" gives them that opportunity and provides the students with the chance to perform in a "dinner club" setting. In addition to solos and small ensembles, the entertainment will also include the VHS Show Choir "Rhythm in Red" and VHS "Jazz One".
Evening with the VHS Music Stars also features good food, catered by Mister Smith's Bakery Caf and Catering, presented by the middle school and high school music students, in a warm and pleasant atmosphere, hosted by the Vermillion Music Boosters.
Everyone is invited. Tickets are on sale now at the high school or at Nook 'n Cranny, Davis Pharmacy, Vermillion Beauty Shop, Hy-Vee and Jones' Food Center. Tickets cost $20 each and include the four-course, sit-down dinner on fine china.
Please purchase tickets by Feb. 23. For more information, contact the VHS Department of Music at 677-7035.
