The University of South Dakota will host the Rawlins Piano Trio at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 in Farber Hall, Old Main.
The trio consist of Susan Keith Gray, an in demand pianist, teacher, adjudicator and clinician, John Thomson who holds a master's and doctoral degrees in violin performance, and Nick Curry who joined the Rawlins Trio and The University of South Dakota faculty in the fall of 2005.
The trio's most recent CD, American Romance, was released by Albany Records in 2004 and was declared, "A real find!" by reviewer J. Scott Morrison.
The Rawlins Trio has formed a reputation as a preeminent interpreter of American music. Owing to its expertise, the trio has recorded three CDs of these works and has been invited frequently to perform at the national conventions of the Society for American Music.
