This should be a banner year for our Senior Men's Fun Golf League. A second January date found 21 golfers at The Bluffs on Tuesday, Jan. 31 ready to play golf. You could guess that something unusual would happen and it did. Our seven three-man teams came in with scores bunched between 37 and 40, showing three birdies, an average score of 38.4 and three teams tied for the lead with scores of 37. Such great golf in January.
Using the tie-breaker system, our team of Turk Pilker, Ted Van Bruggen and Jack Doyle emerged as winners with Dave Raabe, Jim Zimmerman, a guest, along with Howard Connors in second place and Ken Beringer, Bob Satter and Louie Fostvedt ranked third. We welcomed Bob Satter as a new member of our group.

The weather was cool with a south breeze and a threat of evening showers. The breeze went down about midway through the round on the front nine and it warmed up for the last few holes.
Weather and the rain or snow that falls will determine our next date. Wait for a call from our faithful calling committee Howard Connors, Ken Beringer, Ron Brown and Sid Davis. Thank these men for their extra efforts and be sure your name is on one of the call lists. Let us know when you reach age 80. Ted Van Bruggen is our newest senior senior.
