Vermillion JV is shot down by Chargers 61-33
The Vermillion Tanagers were shot down by the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers 61-33 in boys' basketball Jan. 24 at home as the Tanagers shot just 26 percent from the field.

"We played hard for certain stretches," said Vermillion JV coach Jon Ruevers. "We need to improve on both ends of the court."

The Tanagers trailed 12-7 at the end of the first period, trailed 27-15 at halftime, and then trailed 44-30 after the third quarter.

The loss dropped the Vermillion JV to a record of 4-5, while Sioux Falls Christian improved to 7-2.

Vermillion sank 0 of 5 three-point attempts and sank 9 of 22 free throw tries. The Tanagers connected on 12 of 47 field goals, while Sioux Falls Christian was 27 of 59 from the field. Sioux Falls Christian sank 3 of 8 three-point tries and sank 4 of 10 free throw tries.
