The Tanagers fell behind 11-10 after the opening period, trailed 24-23 after the second quarter, and then held a lead of 35-29 going into the final period.
Vermillion carried the game from long range, making 6 of 12 three pointers to 1 of 6 for Beresford. The contest was well-played, with each team committing only 5 turnovers.
"We had a great effort on defense and wd showed basketball IQ on offense," said Vermillion JV coach Jon Ruevers.
Vermillion JV improved its season mark to 4-6, while Beresford fell to 3-5.
Vermillion JV hit 9 of 24 free throw attempts. The Tanagers hit 18 of 50 field goal attempts, while Beresford was 16 of 47 from the field. The Watchdogs hit 9 of 14 free throw tries.
