The Jolly Juniors and Juniorettes 4-H club recently delivered 4-H bears to the local Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton as part of a statewide community service project. The bears will be given, at the hospital's discretion, to children in the pediatric unit as "ouchy bears."
Avera Health is a statewide 4-H partner of Character Counts! and sponsor of the CARING pillar. 4-H members care about their community in many different ways. The 4-H Bear Community Service Project helps 4-H'ers reach out to other children in pediatric facilities, local clinics and day cares.
The project is funded, in part, through the South Dakota 4-H Foundation.
