  • Brown Bag Lunch – The National Music Museum presents Music from County Clare, by John Everist and Bill Peterson. This program features Irish music (jigs, reels, hornpipes, and polkas) played in the old style, illustrating the history of traditional Irish dance from the 1700s to the present. Come listen to the show at the National Music Museum on Friday, March 17 starting at 12:05 p.m. This program is free and open to the public.
  • St. Patrick's Day Bingo – Join the Senior Citizens Center for bingo on Friday, March 17 starting at 1 p.m.
  • Eagles St. Patrick's Day Special – Join the Eagles on Friday, March 17 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The Eagles will be serving corned beef and cabbage. For more information call 624-9934.

  • American Heart CPR – Now is your chance to learn CPR. Class begins Saturday, March 18. Classes are sponsored by the Vermillion Ambulance Association and Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital. All CPR classes include adult, child, infant and AED. Classes run from 1 to 5 p.m. at the William J. Radigan Fire/EMS Station, 820 N. Dakota Street. Please park in the northwest visitor lot. Fee is $20 per class. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 677-7053 for more information.
  • USD ROTC 10K Run – The first annual 10K Army Leaders Run/Troop Trot will be held on Saturday, March 18 to raise money for USD ROTC in their training and continued development as future Army leaders. The 10K is open to anyone interested 13 years of age and older. The Troop Trot is open to children 12 years old and younger and is a one-mile course. This is a great way to show your support for our nation's military and to be a part of USD history. Registration forms are available online at or they are also available for pickup at the DakotaDome entry way leading to the pool area.
  • Vermillion's City Council will meet on Monday, March 20. City council meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Al Neuharth Center.   • Clay County Historical Society's "What's it Worth?" – The Clay County Historical Society will hold a meeting featuring Joe Hoffman doing his "What's it Worth?" program at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 at the Austin-Whittemore House. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to bring an article for appraisal and/or identification.
  • SESDAC Benefit Auction – Join SESDAC at Buffalo Run Winery on Saturday, March 25 for a benefit auction. The gala begins with hors d'ouevres at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., silent auction closes at 8 p.m., and live auction at 8:30 p.m.
  • USD Opera Workshop Performance – USD's Opera Workshop ensemble presents George Bizet's Doctor Miracle, a one-act comic operetta sung in an English adaptation by Donald Pippin. Come watch the show on Saturday, March 25 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Colton Recital Hall. This event is open to the public and free.   • Book Club Movie – Join the Vermillion Public Library on Sunday, March 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. for the Book Club Movie. For more information call 677-7060.
  • Brown Bag Lunch – The National Music Museum presents music from Degas String Quartet and the Euclid String Quartet. They will be performing new work by a young American composer born in Puerto Rico in 1973. Come listen to the show at the National Music Museum on Friday, March 31 starting at 12:05 p.m. This program is free and open to the public.
