Since spring is just around the corner here is a selection of the library's most current guides to plants, flowers, landscaping, and gardens.

The agapanthus is called the "flower of love." Hanneke van Dijk has authored a detailed guide to this beautiful flower with Agapanthus for Gardeners.

Taunton Press offers the "do-it-yourselfer" Stonescaping: Idea Book, a manual for outdoor design.

Some flowers stand out in a crowd and the tulip is one of those crowd pleasers. Gardening with Tulips, by Michael King, is illustrated with over 470 of the author's own photographs and provides a fresh look at these spring delights.

Gardening by Design, edited by Noel Kingsbury, provides expert advice from the world's leading garden designers.

Good lighting adds the finishing touch to any garden or outdoor room. Leading designer Michele Osborne shows you how to dramatically change any outdoor space with Creative Garden Lighting. These and many other gardening books can be found on the new book shelves beyond the circulation desk. Book Club

The Book Club offers many selections to Internet patrons. Each book runs for five days, Monday through Friday. Some genres only offer selections every other week. Check out this service by registering at the library's Web site, and clicking on the book club icon.

ROMANCE: The Nosey Neighbor, by Fern Michaels.

SCIENCE FICTION: And Don't Forget to Rescue the Princess, by Marc Bilgrey.

TEEN: First French Kiss, by Adam Bagdasarian.

Library Activities Calendar

A second Scrabble Scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. Come challenge others to Scrabble games at this event and improve your word knowledge. Extra Scrabble boards are welcome. This program is for adults and young adults between the ages of 12 to 18 years old. For more information, please contact the Vermillion Public Library at 677-7060.
