Coyote softball posts doubleheader shut out of Dakota Wesleyan
The South Dakota women's softball team (10-12) swept Dakota Wesleyan (2-13) in a pair of five-inning shut outs, 16-0, and, 9-0, March 22 at the DakotaDome.

In the two games, the Coyotes combined to score 25 runs on 17 hits, while the Tigers were held to just six hits and committed four errors.

Senior Alisha Yowell (Omaha, NE) pitched the first four innings of the first game and allowed just one hit, while striking out four batters and walking one to record her fourth win of the season (4-6). Freshman Tagney Jones (Lincoln, NE) pitched the final inning and gave up just one hit and struck out two batters.


In the second game, USD scored all nine of its runs in the bottom half of the first inning before turning the game over to the many of the reserves.

Senior Amber Terry (Fremont, NE) evened her season record at 2-2 after pitching three shut out innings and allowing just one hit, while striking out three batters.
