Isles receives bachelor's degree
St. Cloud University conducted fall 2005 commencement ceremonies for more than 500 undergraduates at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at Halenbeck Hall on campus. President Roy H. Saigo conferred the degrees before a crowd of more than 4,000.

Marie Isles, Vermillion, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree.

The commencement address was delivered by Phillip L. Davis, president of Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

The commencement ceremony for SCSU students receiving graduate (post-baccalaureate) degrees was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, in Ritsche Auditorium. Approximately 75 students received their degrees and were hooded at the ceremony in front of more than 700 family members and guests. Speaker was Professor Harold Lofgreen, director of the Minnesota Economic Development Center and economics professor at SCSU.

The university has one of the strongest international programs in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system; has one of three business colleges in Minnesota nationally accredited at the undergraduate and graduate level; and is the 12th largest producer of new educators in the country.

SCSU is located 70 miles northwest of the Twin Cities along the oak-crowned banks of the Mississippi River.
