Roche breaks assist record

Vermillion High School junior Annie Roche has become the all-time assist leader in Vermillion High School girls' basketball history.

Roche broke Carie Ahlgrim's record of 213 assists that has stood since 1993.

Ahlgrim set her record in 1992-93. Roche ecclipsed that mark with her play from 2003 to this this year.

Roche is currently over 220 assists as a junior, and her fine play Feb. 28, along with that of her Tanager teammates, has them pursuing action at the Girls State Class A Basketball Tournament March 9-11 in the Corn Palace at Mitchell.
