Senior Kerri Starcevich, a member of the South Dakota softball team (8-12), has earned her first-ever North Central Conference Women's Softball Player of the Week honor.
Starcevich, who shared this week's honor with Nebraska-Omaha's Leslie Svoboda, led USD to six wins in eight games. A shortstop from Monroe, IA, Starcevich hit .423 with 11 hits in 26 at-bats. She also accumulated 11 RBIs in eight games, including four RBIs in USD's 8-3 win over Upper Iowa during the DakotaDome Invitational.
Starcevich, who is hitting .317 on the season, also scored seven runs, hit two triples, stole two bases and walked once during the eight-game stretch.
The Coyotes will return to action on Tuesday, March 28, when they open NCC play with a double header against Nebraska-Omaha at 3:30 p.m. at the USD Softball Complex.
