Tanager junior varsity defeats Wagner 33-23
The Vermillion Tanagers pulled away in the second half to defeat Wagner 33-23 in boys' basketball Feb. 13 at Wagner.

The score was even at 17-17 at halftime.

"We played well overall and it was a good win," said Vermillion JV coach Jon Ruevers. "We made a great team effort defensively."


The Tanagers fell behind 8-6 after the opening period, the game was knotted 17-17 at halftime, and the Tanagers led 25-19 after the third quarter.

The Vermillion JV improved its record to 5-9, while WHS dropped to 3-8.

Vermillion JV sank 9 of 15 from the line. The Tanagers made 12 of 45 field goal attempts, while WHS was 11 of 38 from the field. WHS hit 1 of 7 three-pointers and made 0 of 2 from the line.
