UNC’s Next Scholars honored

The University of Northern Colorado honored a group of outstanding freshmen Sunday, Feb. 26, at its annual UNC's Next Scholars reception.

Morgan Brooks of Vermillion was named one of UNC's Next Scholars.

This honor recognizes the achievements of UNC freshmen who have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the fall semester.

"Students' success during the first semester of college sets the tone for future successes," said Dean of Students Jean Schober Morrell. "It is important to recognize young scholars and hold them up as examples for the rest of campus."

The reception is an annual event hosted by the Dean of Students Office and Mortar Board.
