Against SIU-E, the Coyotes scored in its first at-bat when senior Sarah Wrage (Cherokee, IA) hit an double to center field to score sophomore Krystal Kirwan (Omaha, NE), who reached on a single to center.

In its second game, after Wayne State pushed a run across in the top of the first inning, the Coyotes answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning. USD scored thanks to a walk, an error, two wild pitches and a suicide squeeze play.
USD added a run in the bottom of the third inning and then tacked on another in the bottom of the fourth to hold on for the win. In the fourth inning, Jones walked and scored after the left fielder dropped a fly ball hit by senior Kerri Starcevich (Monroe, IA).
The Warriors made a push by scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but left the tying run stranded.
Senior Alisha Yowell (Omaha, NE) improved to 1-4 on the season after pitching all seven innings. Yowell allowed two earned runs and struck out two batters.
