The South Dakota women's tennis team improved to 4-4 on the season with a 7-0 decision over Concordia-Austin March 6 in Austin, TX.
The Coyotes won all six of their singles matches and the three doubles matches. However, USD received just one team point in doubles because Concordia, which is a Division III school, has a conference rule that awards a single team point to the team that wins at least two of the three doubles matches.
With her win at No. 4 singles, Hogan improved to a team-best 7-1 on the season. At No. 6 singles, Suzy Puetz picked up a straight-set win to move to 6-2 on the season. In addition, the Hogan/Galbraith doubles team improved to 6-2 this season. At No. 1 singles, Amanda Barton moved to 5-3 on the season as did No. 5 singles player Rachel Kludt.
Ashley Waltman and Galbraith at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, improved to 4-4 on the season. The Barton/Kludt doubles team is now 5-3 at No. 2 doubles while the No. 1 doubles team of Waltman and Puetz has improved to 3-5 on the season.
The USD tennis squad has now won four of its last five matches this season.
