Game 1 � Augustana 1,
Augustana scored the only run of the contest with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to hand USD its third loss of the season to the Vikings, 1-0.
After two straight strikeouts to begin the inning, Augustana's Kristi Villar hit a double to right center and Katie Krauth singled up the middle to score Villar for the only run of the contest.
In the bottom of the seventh, Krauth struck out all three Coyotes to improve to 13-2 on the season. For the game, Krauth allowed four hits, struck out five batters and walked two.
USD had its chances to score, however, senior Kerri Starcevich (Monroe, IA), who was 2-for-2 in the game, was thrown out at home on an infield hit and the Coyotes left the bases loaded in bottom of the third inning.
For the game, Augustana left 11 runners on base, while the Coyotes stranded six.
Senior Alisha Yowell (Omaha, NE) fell to 6-12 despite recording nine strikeouts. Yowell allowed one run and eight hits, while walking three batters in seven innings.
Game 2 � Augustana 8,
The Vikings scored two runs in four different innings and tallied 12 hits, while taking advantage of four Coyote errors to garner an 8-2 win.
Down 4-0, USD scored in the bottom of the fourth inning when senior Sarah Wrage (Cherokee, IA) hit a ground-rule double to right center, advanced on a ground out and then scored on a passed ball.
After Augustana tacked on two more runs in the top of the sixth inning, Wrage hit an infield single and then stole second base before scoring on an RBI single by freshman Tagney Jones (Lincoln, NE) in the bottom half of the inning.
However, that was all the scoring USD could muster, as the Vikings added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning to sweep the regular season meetings with the Coyotes.
For the game, Wrage and sophomore Katie Swanson (Omaha, Neb.) each record-ed two of USD's seven hits.
Villar led the Vikings by going 5-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored.
Yowell pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed six runs (four earned) on 10 hits and notched three strikeouts, while walking four batters.
Augustana's Jessica Cooper pitched seven innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits. Copper finished with three strikeouts and two walks.
