The Tanager girls placed second behind South Sioux City with 114 points (SCC had 153). Krista Froke had the only field event points with a second place in the high jump.
In the dashes, Karissa Martin was third and Jacey Wipf sixth in the 100M. In the 200M, Alicia Brown won with a 26.1 time; Martin was in third, and Kinsey Weydert placed fourth. The 400M was also won by Brown (58.7 seconds) and Froke was third. Nicole Orr was the winner in both the 100M (16.1) and 300M (48.3) hurdles.
The 4x100M, 4x200M, and 4x400M relay teams, as well as the sprint medley team all won their races. Members of the medley team are Annie Roche, Brittney Babb, Alexa Walker and Sarah Day; 4x100M medley members are Kinsey Weydert, Hannah Korcuska, Walker and Day. Members of the 800M relay team are Nicole Orr, Annie Roche, Brittney Babb and Alicia Brown. The runners on the champion 1600M relay team are Walker, Babb, Roche, Anna Moos and Brown.
The Tanager boys' team also did well in the competition placing third behind SSC and Lennox, scoring 96 points (SSC � 143; Lennox � 107).
Field event placers for Vermillion were: Tom Mollet � first in shot put (44'7"); Kyle Nemec � fifth in the discus; Bobby Dykstra � second in the high jump; Andrew Pier and Dykstra � fourth and sixth, respectively, in the long jump. Brad Orr placed fifth in the 110M hurdles; and Mike Oberle placed fourth in the 300M hurdles.
Broc Gauer finished third in the 800M run, while J.R. Moore and D.J. Donahoe
placed fourth and sixth in the 1600M run. Andrew Pier and Greg Anderson went third and fourth in the 100M dash, and Ryan Powel won the 400M dash in 52.2 seconds.
Relay team results were: 4×100 � third (Pier, Jerrod Freidel, Jeff Donnelly and Gregg Anderson); 4x200M � first 1:36.5 (Pier, Freidel, Powell and Gauer); 4x400M � first 3:39.4 (Oberle, Freidel, Gauer and Powell); medley relay � third (Anderson, Dykstra, Donnelly and Carlson).
