The Vermillion Public Library is pleased to include the book The University of South Dakota Photograph Collection: Preserving Our Past in Images, 1930-1999 in its South Dakota Room Collection. This catalogue displays historic USD photographs from the exhibition of the same name. The exhibit was organized by Sarah A. Hanson, manager of the photographic Collection and Curator of Archives and Special Collections at the University of South Dakota. This book is located on the South Dakota section of the new book shelves.


DearReader.com Book Club

The DearReader.com Book Club offers many selections to Internet patrons. Each book runs for five days, Monday through Friday. Some genres only offer selections every other week. Library Activities Calendar

The next meeting of the Vermillion Public Library Book Club is scheduled for April 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. The April book for discussion is The Remains of the Day, by Kazuo Jshiguro. This selection is a portrayal of an English butler in postwar England assessing his career and his life choices. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk. Call the library at 677-7060 for more details.

If you have read The Remains of the Day, then enjoy the movie version. The movie is scheduled for Sunday, April 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Community Room of the library. Popcorn will be provided. This activity is for adults and young adults from 12 to 18 years of age.

The library is preparing for an exciting event coming in May. Step into the world of Dinostories and visit an activities exhibit May 3-22. Weekly programs are scheduled with special story and craft times for Toddlers and Preschoolers. This exhibit is created by the Hands-On Partnership for Science, Literature, and Art in South Dakota in partnership with the SD School of Mines & Technology Discovery Center & Aquarium, Dahl Fine Arts Center, South Dakota State Library, and the Rawlins Municipal Library.
