Irene-Wakonda Eagles girls' golf team had its first meet Tuesday, April 4, at the Freeman Academy golf meet at Valley View Golf Course.
This year's coach is Chuck Olsen from Irene.
Irene junior Ellyse Olsen is one of the top returning small-school golfers in the state. She shot an 83 and claimed an 11-stroke victory, helping the Eagles win a 23-stroke victory.
Tiffany Ganschow placed seventh, scoring 110.
