Gospel singers plan song fest April 30
The Southeastern South Dakota Gospel Singing Convention will be holding their quarterly gospel song fest at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Scotland on Sunday afternoon, April 30, at 2 p.m.

For the past five years the Singing Convention has existed as a nondenominational effort to preserve the heritage of singing hymns and old time gospel songs in four-part harmony.

The convention meets quarterly at various churches and community halls across the southeastern part of the state. A typical afternoon will be spent in congregational singing from a convention style book which contains over one thousand familiar hymns and southern gospel style songs.

Several accomplished pianists accompany the singing. The afternoon is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to come and join the in the singing or just come, listen, and enjoy the fellowship.

The Fellowship Baptist Church in Scotland is two blocks east of the high school gym. For more information, call the singing convention secretary at 605-925-4482.
